DNV proposes speed limits to curb emissions

The classification society DNV’s maritime chief has proposed imposing speed limits on the world’s merchant fleets as a better solution to curbing emissions than carbon credit trading.  He does point out that he favors a voluntary program versus a mandatory regulation to impose speed limits.   More info can be found at the Lloyds List site.  Photo courtesy cbmd
