Liability when both vessels violate COLREGS

Ecaptain has some insight into what happens when both vessels involved in a collision violate COLREGS.  To go along with this topic…gcaptain posted a video of a collision between the MAERSK HOLYHEAD and M/V PEQUOT.  This collision occurred in November of 2005, but has to be one of the most amazing footage of a collision that I have seen thus far.  What is particularly scary is that the MAERSK HOLYHEAD was loaded with LNG.  Cargolaw has all the historical details on this one.
