Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users’ updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user’s profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers). Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow anybody to access them. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or applications such asTweetie, Twitterrific, Twitterfon, TweetDeck and feedalizr. The service is free to use over the Internet, but using SMS may incur phone service provider fees.

Foul smelling Ukrainian ship gets help

Fairplay reports that the foul smelling Ukrainian freighter Beriks, finally received assistance yesterday from the Ukranian Border Guard. France finds success with 11 pirates captured

In a demonstration of superb tactical execution, France found what seems to be another rare case of success in the battle against piracy yesterday. While thwarting an attack in progress on a Liberian flagged cargo ship Safmarine Asia, the french frigate Nivose decided to follow the pirates that initiated the attack back to a “mother ship” where they were able to arrest 11 pirates, one of the largest interdictions in quite some time.

Thousands of dolphins block pirates?

I had to look through this several times, and still don’t believe what I see. Take it with a grain of salt, as the original story comes from China. I thought I’d post it here anyways, as it is certainly interesting, and if true, absolutely amazing. Because we don’t even see the dolphins and the suspected pirates in the same photo, I wonder how true this story is.

Another U.S. ship attacked by pirates
